Dennis P. McGlone
Dennis P. McGlone is a 1987 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he served on the Law Review, and was elected to the Heuisler Honor Society. Over the past twenty-seven years, he has practiced in a variety of courts and venues in Maryland, primarily in civil litigation, arbitration and mediation. He has been consistently peer-review rated “AV”® by Martindale Hubbell (their highest rating) for over a dozen of years.
After law school, Dennis worked in the litigation department at the Baltimore firm of Whiteford Taylor Preston, where he practiced in the areas of commercial, corporate, and insurance defense litigation, and later in construction and surety law. In 1990, he joined the in-house litigation group at Maryland National Bank (which merged into NationsBank and later Bank of America). For the first three years, as a Vice President and Senior Counsel at MNB, Dennis represented the bank in state, federal and bankruptcy courts in Maryland, defending UCC claims and banking operations cases, estate, trust and fiduciary claims, bankruptcy preferences and adversary actions. Over the next six years, he managed civil banking litigation for NationsBank in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern and Mid-Western states.
Leaving the Bank in 1999, Dennis joined Gordon, Feinblatt, Hoffman, Hoffberger and Hollander as a partner where he continued defending financial institutions in state and federal courts in Maryland, and in private arbitrations. Dennis has represented clients in the areas of banking operations, UCC claims, estate, trust and fiduciary litigation, commercial and corporate suits, landlord/tenant actions, and lien-related litigation. He also has made presentations to ABA committee meetings on developments in the law of retail banking operations. Dennis serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Professional Ethics Committees of the Bar Association of Baltimore City.
Dennis obtained his baccalaureate degree at University of Scranton, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in English Literature and was elected to the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. Between college and law school, he worked at a variety of businesses and for several years served as the Commercial Services Manager at BWI Airport. Dennis has served as the chair of the Justice and Peace Committee of St. Ignatius Church (Baltimore), and served on the Fundraising Committee for Salvadoran Enterprises for Women, Inc., a non-profit organization that sponsors small businesses and economic development projects in El Salvador, Central America.
With his wife of 43 years, Dennis is the father of three adult children. In his spare time, Dennis enjoys hiking, reading, golf, and spending time with his grandchildren.
